8-14-14
Today in class we picked our website names, learned how to add pages and how to add them, and also how to edit those pages with titles and texts, and I also uploaded a pictures of Frank Stella's on my "1st Nine Weeks Page"
8-15-14
Today in class we talked some more about our websites, and then the teacher showed us the basics of Photoshop, preparing us to work with the program when the weekend is over
8-18-14
Control 0=Fit screen
Click "File:New" when one wants to create a new background
After setting background color (the square on the right), press Control Backspace to set layer to that color
Control Z=Undo last action; Alt-Control Z is to go back even more than just one action
Today we learned about how to make Josef Albers like paintings, using the rectangle mark key tool in order to trace out rectangles inside of large rectangles, then coloring them using Control Backspace. We made 4 of these, and I posted my wonderful pieces on my Projects page. We also created a folder that will hold our amazing creations until we turn that digital folder in at the end of the course.

Use bucket fill tool in the original gradient option to fill in layers instead of using control backspace
Go to layer-layer style-stoke to put an outline around layers
Use eyedropper tool to select colors that you previously used
Window-history to see everything you did
View-show-grid to see grid
Today we made some art based off Frank Stella's work, using the rectangle marquee tool that we learned yesterday combined with the new stroke option for layers we learned about today to make paintings like we did yesterday. but with white outlines, and then we posted them onto our website. We also made our biographies for both Frank Stella and Josef Albers.

8-20-14
To make a signature, one must first take a picture of your signature on white paper. Then use the magic erase tool to get rid of all the white. Then select it using the marquee tool, go do edit-define brush preset, and name it "The almighty signature or deathu-desu." You can also right click on the rectangle marquee tool to change it to the circle marquee tool
8-21-14
Today we worked with the text tool (the big "T"). We also worked on layer styles, how to skew, how to make things bigger, wider, shorter, faster, better, stronger. STRONGER. We also worked on pattern overlays and stuff like that. Also, we made a cool project. Coolio. Also, to get to brightness, go to image.
8-22-14
First, we saved a picture of an arctic landscape, and opened it in photoshop. Then we used textbox and worked around with the font. Then we worked with the wind filter. We then transformed it using the perspective and rotating tools. We also flipped it vertically and used the eraser tool to change to opacity. Then we used Gaussian Blur.
8-25-14
Today we did the fire project. We used the smudge tool. We changed the strength and size of the smudge. We used the magic selection tool, which selects objects with a shape. We used the gradient tool. We also worked with creating our own gradients. We used the Color balance adjustment layer, which is the same thing as playing around with the colors of your HDTV...well, not mine. But perhaps someone who has one.
8-26-14
Today we worked on creating our first GIF! We created four frames of fire, then we went to Windows-Timeline, and then created a timeline, and then pressed the dropdown menu in the top corner of the small window that had appeared after pressing timeline, and then pressed convert frames, then convert to frame animation. Then we put all of our frames in those frames, and then we used the tween tool, which looks like a bunch of moons, to make our video seem less choppy. This has been Sam. GG. No Re.
8-27-14
We caught up. GG. NO REEEEEEE
8-28-14
Today we worked with the text tool. Then we went to the Filter-Filter Gallery-Sketch-then reticulation, which made it look cool. Then we went to the layer styles and put on inner glow, bevel and emboss, inner shadow, and outer glow, and messed around with those settings to make it look cool. We also used the Gaussian Blur. GG. No. Re. Never agian
8-29-14
In this activity, we first worked with the elliptical tool to create a circle, but still with the dancing antz. Then we right clicked it and made it into a work path, and then clicked on the work path with the text tool and wrote some text. Then we manipulated the text with the character palate, and then transformed the text after rasteurizing it, and then erased it to give the effect of revolving. We also worked with the image-image size, in order to manipulate the size of our pictures so that it looks cool
9-2-14
Today we used the warp feature to manipulate the text box, we learned how to load brushes from the brush menu, we then created a work path, then created a new layer, then stroked the path, which is filling in the path with certain features, and can be accessed by right clicking the work path with the pen tool
9-3-14
Today, we created yet another thing we did yesterday. We also looked up contour drawings, and then created another type of brush. Then we changed it around with the brush stuff after we went to windows-brush, which allowed us to modify the brush. Now it looks cool. Cool.
9-4-14
Today, we learned how to use the pen tool to outline something, then right clicking it to get to make selections, and then copying that, and then making a brush tool. Then we worked with making a terracotta army
9-15-14
Today, we learned how to make cool texts i.e. they look like they have sceneries behind them. First, you get an image. Then you put a text box below it, then you press a thing in the top right corner of the layer thing, and then you go and click create clipping mask. Boom. Done. GG. NO RE
9-16-14
Today, we continued to work on our clipping masks, and I added some cool layer styles. It looks really sweet
9-17-14
Today, we continued to work on our clipping masks while also learning how to clip multiple pictures into words/letters. Pretty cool stuffz.
9-18-14
Alright, so today we continued to work on our clipping masks. In order to create an image within an image is to cut out an image, copy and paste it onto the one you want to be inside it, then you put a copy of the image you want inside it on top of it, then you hide the background, then you clipping mask it, then you do some stuff with the background in order to make it look cool i.e. whatever you want. GG. NO RE>>>>>>>>
9-19-14
So today, the struggle was real. First, we had to get photo. Then, we had to make copy of photo. THEN, you have to select the portion of photo you want, then press control J to make it a separate layer, and then you get another layer, fill it with a color, hide the previous layers other than the second one you copied and the one you filled in, then you have to select the second one you copied again, and then you have to fill it black, and then you're done. GG. NO re. EVER
9-22-14
Today, we continued to work with what we did on Friday/last entry. However, it was much easier today, and I was able to add some extra stuff into the text, add cool backgrounds, and put stuff from the original image to the new image.
9-23-14
Today, I completed the i-thing commercials. Today, apart from the other stuff I did, I used the rectangle marquee tool to select an area, fill it in, and then use the gradient to make it look cool. I also used layer styles on the people things.
9-24-14
Today, I worked on my Nine Week Projects because I had finished the i-thing commercials, but everyone else had not. I was able to complete one, (you can see more about that on the Nien Week Project Page) and I started work on the other.
9-25-14
Crop tool=three down from marquee tool, the one that looks like a square with a line through it. Also, play with Image-Adjustments. Alright, so today we got a picture of ourselves, went to Image-adjustments-desaturation, and then we went to select-color range, and selected highlights, then shadows, then midtones, and got all of those things that were in our image. Then we selected shadows, hid everything else, then we went to edit-fill, then we got a color, and then you have to click "preserve transparency", and then it will fill in all the shadows.
9-26-14
Feathering=how hard edge it is; 0=hard edge; higher=less hard edge; used when making selection with the pen tool. Alright, so first you have to get a picture of you, cut out yourself, desaturate yourself, then you get shadows, make them black, then we worked with midtones and highlights, we used the brush tool to color ourselves in, and we also worked with the background.
9-29-14
Today we worked on Andy Warhol type pieces by using image-adjustments-posterization. We also worked with the stuff noted above.
9-30-14
Today, we worked with the filter-cutout setting and also the image-adjustments-threshold. I prefer the threshold because you can see more of the physical features of the person. Then I worked on my nine week projects
10-1-14
Today, we used the filter-liquify option to make some cool projects. We can expand our stuff, we can make it smaller, or we can move it entirely. Then we worked on our nein weak projekts.
10-2-14
I doth wonder, where art Sam? Il est mort. Je suis triste.
10-3-14
Sum Caecilius. Sum pater. Also, Sam is still gone. Jeez, where is that guy?
10-6-14
I have returned! And, thus, have some work to catch up on! I had to do a portrait. I forgot the name-its too German. Anyways, What you gotta do is use the pen tool in order to select distinctive features and tones, and then you put them in other layers, and then you make them general colors by using the eyedropper tool, and then you use edit fill, and then you use the stroke it using edit stroke. It's pretty rad.
10-7-14
I finished the thing mentioned above and then worked on some things that were missing in my projects.
10-8-14
I worked on my nine weak projects-and finished them!
10-9-14
I worked on my portfolio
10-10-14
For my last day for the first nien weeks, I worked on my portfolio. Hue.
Third Nine Weaks
1-5-15
Today, I have returned from the long journey I departed on. And thus, I will continue with my Blog. Today we made some new pages in our websites, and then started working on a project in which we take picture of a skyline, flip them vertically, then employ the polar coordinates tool in the filters to make a little planet in our screen.
1-6-15
Today, I continued working with the little planets. I worked with the text around the planets, clipping masks, and gradients.
1-7-15
Bonjeer, my petit croissants. Now, today we worked with the filer-->pixelate-->color halftone. Now, when I used it with a size eight on a fairly large photograph, it created a lot of small dots up close, but when I moved away the dots began to morph into one color. Then, we started working on vector portraits.
1-8-15
Today I continued to work on my vector portraits. To see more on how I did this, check 9-19-14.
1-9-15
Today we looked at our classmates projects. I would give them a 10/10. It was rad.
1-12-15
Alright, so today was pretty cool. First, we got our pictures. Then we learned the 2 ways to create color halftones-one way is to go to filter-pixelate-color halftone. Another way is to go to filter-filter gallery-and then to color halftone. But the second way gets you more options. So it's cooler. Also, we applied these to our vector portraits-mine look pretty cool. Also, I finished 1/3 of my projects!
1-13-15
Today, I continued working on my projects, this time using a picture of kim jong nam, the former heir to the throne of Kim Jong Il who is not the currently ruler of the glorious nation due to the fact that he tried to sneak into Disney Land in Tokyo. Thus, his text. Also, I'm just sort of doing what I did before, so it's pretty easy
1-14-15
Today I finished my 2nd portrait! I also have nearly finished my 3rd one! It's so simple now. Also, the computers never work for me. I think they don't like me.
1-15-15
I finished my third portrait. EZ PEEZ LEMON SQUEEZY. Hue. Also, I finished yet another one of my portfolio projects! I'm almost nearly done! Woohoo! Check it out in my rad portfolio page!
1-20-15
I was not present
1-21-15
Today, I worked on posterization, using the things we had used earlier. To learn how I did this, look at early entries. Also, we applied half tone patterns to a few of the layers. Also, I had to catch up!
1-22-15
Today, I continued what I had started yesterday, and completed two whole projects! Go team Sam! Also, to cut something, it's control-X. Also, Nash Grier's selfies are really bad for doing posterization portraits (ooh, alliteration).
1-23-15
Today, I continued to work on my posterization potraits, and I completed my final one. I also started another portfolio project.
1-26-15
Today, I started my drink label project. I decided on the colours and also what font I want. I need that font. Also, I sort of decided what kind of color scheme I was going to use, but I'm not quite sure about it yet. It's either red, white, and blue (the american way) or pink, yellow, and purple (the fabulous way). Thus is my dilemma.
1-27-15
Today, I was able to finish my drink label project. I picked the fabulous way, and thus my project looks awesome. I also worked on a portfolio project of mine, which is doing pretty well right now.
1-28-15
TODAY I WATCHED THE THING ON GLASS BUT I DIDN'T SAVE. SO HERE'S WHAT WENT DOWN: 1. MAKE TEXT. 2. GO TO 3D AND CLICK THE THING WITH THE 3D FROM SELECTED LAYER. ALSO, YOU CAN MOVE IT AROUND. ALSO, CLICK "V" WHEN HOVERING ABOVE THE MIDDLE THING, AND THEN YOU CAN DO STUFF WITH IT LIKE TWIST IT. ALSO, GO TO THE FOURTH LITTLE THING IN THE PROPERTIES IN ORDER TO RESET IT.
1-29-15
In order to bevel, click v again after clicking "v" as mentioned above. Then, you can inflate it (which makes it look inflated) and bevel (which makes it look awesome); you can drag to icon in the middle in order to change the intensity, and you can change the angle by changing the scroll thingy on the outer side of the icon. Also, in the properties area, there is contour for the bevel, which shows how the bevel will look. Also, can change text while in 3D by selecting the "text" thing. You can change the color by clicking the color. You can also change the font. Also, if you click edit source, you can change the word, and then save the changes to go back to the piece. Can change the bevel+other stuff by clicking on the "word, ______" and then you can change the material like shine, reflection, etc. etc. etc. Also, to get some cool patterns, click on that ball in the top right corner. Also, to see the final image, click 3D, and then click render. Render bender fender kender sender mender chender. <----- Swedish.
1-30-15
In order to merge two separate 3D objects, one must go to duplicate and then put in in the piece. IMMORTALS. IMMORTALS. BUT NOT FOR LONG, FOR LONG. In order to render a specific area, you can use the marquee tool to select an area.
2-2-15
OMG! It's 2-2-2222! Also, today I worked with the 3D tool, which I used in order to make a cool picture and a text using the info above! Sadly, for the rest of the class time the photo was rendering, so I did not get to mess around with photoshop any further.
2-3-15
OMG PATRICK STUMP IS BAEEEE! Also, today I continued to work with the 3D tool, except this time using pictures instead of the text tool. Also, use that fifth tool when you click on the layer itself in 3D mode in order to make things larger and smaller. HUEHUHUE.
2-4-15
Spin for you comme ton favorite record used to. Anyway, I've been continuing my work with 3D stuph, and have created, like, an actual object. It's pretty rad. Also, Fall Out Boy is BAEEEEE. Also, I then worked on my portfolio project.
2-5-15
Today, I continued to work on portfolio projects.
2-9-15
Omg so today we started our awesome set projects. I think I have an idea of what I'm going to do, but it will be very difficult. But it took me the entire period to come up with my master plan, while also tinkering with 3D photoshop. Yes-it will be difficult. But I will do it! I will drink the commoner coffee!
2-10-15
Today, I continued working on my 3D photoshop thing. It's going pretty well-I should finish by tomorrow.
2-11-15
OMG WHY THE HECK DIDN'T IT PUBLISH?! Also, only thing to remember-click on the third thing instead of extrusion and postcard for making something to make pre determined shapes.
2-12-15
Today, I worked on my portfolio project. I am using 3D objects, and I should try to make a crown tomorrow using cones and domes. It should be pretty cool. IDK though.
2-13-15
Today, I started to make a crown. It's pretty cool. It takes a lot of work, but it's pretty simple. I should be finished with it by next monday. Or maybe the day after that, if I'm a slow worker. Whatever the case, that makes 4 portfolio projects. This weekend, I plan to download photoshop for the free trial, and then work on the portfolios from home, finishing them with my great expertise in the subject. GG. NO RE.
2-17-15
Absent due to braces.
2-18-15
Today, I worked on stars. In order to see how I did this, check Mr. Parkers page.
2-19-15
Today, I tried to work on star wars stuff. Check out Mr.Parker's page to see how I did this.
2-20-15
Today, I worked on my portfolio. It was so chill
2-23-15
Today, I continued to work on my crown for my portfolio.
2-24-15
Today, I worked on portfolio projects.
2-25-15
Guess what I did today? Well, no, sadly, but I did continue to work on my portfolio projects.
2-26-15
PRAIIISSSEEEE JESUS I ACTUALLY FINISHED A PORTFOLIO PROJECT.
2-27-15
It's raining men! HALLELIEGHYAAAAA! I finished yet another portfolio project. But now...there comes the hardest task I have undertaken thus far...I have about a week to finish 7 projects, most of which will include 3D objects. This will be extremely difficult. Ehue.
3-2-15
Happy Birthday to me! Alright, so today I finished one of my nine weak projects. It was pretty good. I think I should be able to finish the other tomorrow, and then I'll be able to focus on the important things in life. Like the glorious portfolio.
3-3-15
Alright, so today I'm working on my second nine weak project. I've about finished it-I just need to outline a blimp, and then put it in the photo. Then I have an almost assured A! But that's not enough! I need a 100! So, I will have to work through the night.
3-4-15
Myspace tho. Also, today I finished one of my 9 weak projects. Thus, I only have 4 portfolio projects left! Horrah! 'Tis a happy day!
3-5-15
Today is the last day. Je suis tres triste, but it has been fun. So, with an assured "A," I plan to do the write ups today, and then do a few tonight.
3-6-15
C'est le fin.
